I decided to do roundups on a monthly basis, but I’m finding there is so much I’ve enjoyed reading, watching and listening to, that I’ve had to be very selective to fit it all into one post. Maybe these roundups will need to be more frequent than monthly.
I’m starting with pro-natalism, because it was a big topic this month. As usual, a great discussion between Adrian and Moira on In Bed With The Right, this time on pro-natalism.
And in related news, I plan to pick up this book by Catherine Pakaluk, Hannah’s Children: The Women Quietly Defying the Birth Dearth.
There’s this piece in The Atlantic, arguing that the reason people aren’t having kids these days is because they lack a sense of purpose and meaning in the world. This seems utterly ludicrous to me, but is one of very few think pieces that is not totally overlooking the fact that most people who say they don’t plan to have kids just don’t want to.
